A growing insight into what seems all interests that Web users have, is that online searchers for information are simply more apt to buy products or services.
The strong growth of Papa John's Pizza (PZZA) in this area is a good example.
What Papa John's has done is have a one stop online shop for people wanting to order online from any of its 2,600 pizza parlors around the U.S. You can order up
to 21 days in advance, while orders for the company are expected to more than double this year and reach over $200 million in sales. Not bad when they're the only company in the U.S. offering it at all their stores.
Competitors like Yum Brands Inc. (YUM), and Dominoes (DPZ) offer it, but on a limited basis.
CEO Nigel Travis, formerly of Blockbuster Inc. (BBI), who built up their online service, said that online orders should grow at this level "for the foreseeable future."
"Online customers spend more money and come back more often," he said.
That seems to be the bottom line across all sectors for the online user. Those that use the Internet seem to spend more per order and do it more often. Another reason why all businesses need to be looking at ways they can take advantage of online strategies.
