Google has added a service in its Adwords Starter Edition that can help local businesses that have been hesitating to get online, to go ahead and begin the process.
In the new service they are offering a free landing page that they will create for the user and host it for them. Google is considering it a feature of the Adwords Starter Edition and so are giving it away free.
Jon Diorio, senior product marketing manager for Google AdWords commented, "Once you've created your ad, and it's time to send people to a Web site with the ad you've created, it asks you if you have a page and will create one for you if you don't. One of our goals is to empower the long tail of advertisers. Helping those small businesses that may not have an Internet presence, still source customers and make it as easy as possible."
These page won't be full business web sites, but landing pages created for offering basic information like how to contact a company, addresses and images.
This is a good way to enter the market if you've been overly concerned about the technical side of putting up a web presence for your local business. This will give you some experience and is extremely simple to use in its own right.
