In a deal with Clear Channel, Reuters will provide news and video content to their 200 sites for its news-on-demand service.
The result will be that Clear Channel (CCU) will combine its current news coverage with reuter's video and text feeds, according to MediaWeek.
How the deal works is that Reuters is licensing its content to Clear Channel, while Clear Channel will keep all of the advertising under its roof. From there the various station websites will have the ability to customize their advertising for the local or
national advertisers.
Evan Harrison, EVP of Clear Channel's online radio division says, "The primary focus of this product is for News-Talk-Sports, but there are lifestyle and entertainment segments we can use with our music station websites."
