
Another way to Help Identify your Niche
We've talked about how knowing and understanding yourself and what interests you as a key to understanding the type of niche you can serve.
Within that concept, another thing you can do is to create within your mind the type of customer you'll want to serve. Who is it that you would want to offer products and services to? Who wouldn't you want to offer them to?
Asking these types of questions helps to give you answers that start to more strategically define what it is your business will be.
Don't be afraid to think of those that you wouldn't want to do business with. There may be many reasons why you wouldn't want to that can make the difference between failure and success.
On thing to always remember when your dealing with contraction (narrowing things down), once you've got it down to where you know and understand who you are and what you want to do, it is in that discovery that the expansion comes. It is there that you can look for ways to grow and prosper.
We have to get past the psychological barrier that is erected in response to the contracting process. Once you're past that, you can flourish and see all sorts of possibilities that can be introduced to your core customer.
