The Main Purpose for a Niche Site

What's the purpose of a niche Web site? One word: narrow. To narrow and whittle away those that aren't interested so that those that are interested can find you and one another. That's one thing we haven't talked about yet in this niche series: the social side of a niche site.

That's why for years smart online marketers have developed forums that invite the true believers into a conversation with one another about numerous aspects of the their specific interests. They are a lot of your early adopters and evangelists that spread the good news of your business.

Now the overall purpose of a niche site is to build a community of like-minded people around an interest they all have, and provide easy-to-use tools to empower them to communicate easily.

From there your business should grow and take upon larger proportions as the word gets out about your online hangout.

Don't be concerned about those that aren't intested in your site or the specific purpose it's built for. You're not looking for them, you're trying to get rid of them so you can connect with the genuine and truly intested. Niches are never supposed to be connected to mass or general audiences or communities; if they are, they're no longer a niche.
