Understanding Variation when Creating for a Niche Market

Where do you start when thinking of products or services that could meet the needs of the niche market you've decided to target? Think of the word "variation."

Look at what's being currently used to serve this niche, and then think through and write down all sorts of variations of the existing product that would add something unique to what's already in the market. People are always looking for something to add to their experience with a product or service. Be the one to provide it for them.

Don't fail to look at what may seem the obvious to you. If you took something as simple as candles and looked at it from all sorts of angles, there are a ton of things that you could offer that would make it stand out from among others.

For example, what if you were able to work out a deal where you could license something that you could have shapes of candles made into that you had exclusive rights to? How about interesting shapes that nobody else is currently making? You could even narrow it down to certain figures, and from there come up with dozens of other figures based upon variations of what exists.

You get the idea. Learn to embrace this word variation and what it stands for as you look for that which your core customer would love to have. Then ask around and see if they have an interest in what you're proposing. The "yes" answers will help you to achieve your dreams.
