
With online ad spend being one of the key growth areas, Amazon.com has employed its subsidiary A9 to power up its new pay-per-click ad network to display targeted text ads alongside its product pages.
The program, which is in beta, is called Clickriver Ads, and will be built upon an auction-based pay-per-click advertising model.
What it will empower marketers to do is " ... place sponsored links on Amazon.com, next to search results and on product detail pages.
Clickriver Ads presents a unique opportunity to advertise services and products that complement the selection on Amazon.com," says its About page.
With the hunger for marketers to find outlets for their products and services in an increasingly fragmented marketplace, this should do great for Amazon
