Starting only two years ago, Adbrite set out to bring large brand marketers together with niche Web sites, while charging weekly rates instead of per-click.
They have exploded in growth, now having a network of over 28,000 publishers and brand marketers connecting. Their unique visiters per month have grown from 7 million to 62 million since the beginning of 2005.
One change they've now made because of the huge growth has been to adopt an auction model for its ad network. Now the advertisers can target according to demographics, geography, and keywords on a per-
impression basis. The format for the ads at this time are text, banners and interstitials. Adbrite says they are in the planning stage of offering video ads in the near future.
"We still offer a flat rate, but we clearly think that this is the way to go since it's much more scalable and much more what advertisers want," said AdBrite CEO Iggy Fanlo. "We're trying to create a complete exchange model.
The appeal to publishers is that they are still empowered to approve ads and are now offered a wider range of options besides text ads.

Trying Adbrite now, after using Adsense for 3 years!
Adsense losing its charm, people are getting tired of it! .05 CPC is not fun!
Time to give control to the publishers!
