Here's an interesting thought to consider: The more someone is an individual, the more they want to be part of a group. Have you ever thought of that? Think Harley Davidson. Who would want to buy a cool motorcycle, customize it, and then keep it hidden in the garage so that only your eyes see it? Would you?
What has happened? You've created something that shows a part of your individuality; but that's not all...you've also created something that you want to share with someone else. The individual expression means nothing without being able to show it to someone else. It's the desire to show it that is the beginning of building a community.
This is the true key to understanding what a niche really means: The desire to show something that's uniquely yours; to contribute something to the people around you.
All of the online communities are built upon this concept (sometimes what's uniquely yours is you).
The secret to the power of a niche? Find the point that connects people together. It is there where you can build successful relationships with that specific community as a whole. It is there where you can find out what type of interesting products or services they would like to have offered to them. It is only there that you can find out what they are looking for.
What's the force behind building a community? Whatever it is that brings them together. A community is nothing more or less than individuals getting together and socializing over some type of connecting point. Those who do things to help that along, will be huge winners in the online marketing world.
