Marketing isn't as complicated as many make it out to be. Those that are having the most trouble at this time are those that market to the masses. Now there they do have a problem as they must find ways to get their message to a large amount of people across multiple platforms (different devices).
Marketing to a core group doesn't have this difficulty nearly as much. The fact that we're online marketers already tells us that we're serving people that are online. Other than possibly providing several different ways to consume our offerings, we don't have to get too concerned about all this other stuff that companies marketing to the masses do.
Contrary to a lot of the buzz out there, most people aren't that worried about having every conceivable way of accessing your products or services, they are more concerned with the fact that you are serving their wants and needs in the best way you can; in other words...that you are focusing on them.
Like we say at thealphamarketer all the time: technology will never be the differentiator between you and your competitors; all one has to do is to adopt it as part of your business and you're the same as everyone else.
The great differentiator is the focus you have upon the people you serve. Nothing else. This may sound too easy for some of you, but very few companies get this right. Obsess on the core people you serve and nobody will be able to gain an entry into their mind as an alternative to what you have to give.
