A new report from Forrester Research (FORR) shows that of the 80 million U.S. household online, 75% of them have purchased products using the Internet.
Of the 75% making purchases, almost 70% of them have purchased an online product within the last three months, according to Internet Retailer, citing the Forrester Report.
A hefty 8 million of the households reportedly spent $500 over that same three-month period; almost 20% of the total. Another 16% spent between $250 and $499, 26% purchased between $100 and $249. The largest percent, 39%, spent between $1 and $99, the study showed.
The major reasons given for shopping online was that it would save
time, and was easier than other ways offered.
The report added that online purchases would grow beyond the extraordinaray total of $270 billion by 2011, and that doesn't even include travel and auctions.
