
When it comes to moms, TV is no longer the best way to reach them. The potential to reach them through the Internet is growing exponentially, as more moms use the Internet than watch TV.
What is the preferred method that moms want to be reached with? According to 91% polled, they wanted to be reached by recommendations from their mom friends; celebrities don't resonate
with this group.
Marketing Daily cited a C&R Research study done for the Walt Disney Co. (DIS) Online that figures there are 31 million moms online. They also cited a Gallop Organization study that estimated the total at 21.2 million online mothers. Either way you look at it, it's a huge market.
Almost 90% of moms said they look online for advice for raising their children. Almost the same amount said that they have made online purchases. Once a day a huge 95% of mothers are online at least once.
The great thing about reaching the mom market is their desire to connect with one another. If you reach one, it usually means you've reached a lot more than one. This could possibly be the ultimate viral marketing demographic to reach.
