We all know the majority of strategies that online marketers use to drive traffic to their sites; the field is packed and the competition is fierce. Yet there is another medium that you can use that will give you some great results and the space is not taken by very many online marketers at all. It's TV advertising.
Now before you click away quick, understand that it is no more expensive, and in many cases, less expensive than other forms of promotion. How much money do you spend on PPC to drive traffic or move product? I bet it's not a small amount.
The way it is done inexpensively is through what is called remnant inventory. What that represents is various commercial spots that haven't been sold with a week or less before airing of shows. As with any business, the television stations would rather sell them for far less, than make nothing with them. What's surprising is that these aren't only spots available at late night hours, but many are in the day and offered by highly-watched stations.
These are fantastic opportunities at huge savings for those that are willing to learn this aspect of marketing.
Here's a great article talking about it costing only around $3,000 in total costs to have 150 custom TV commercials aired for the company ordering them. The result was over 100 qualified inbound phone calls, along with more traffic being driven to the site when the spots were being aired - all of them potential future customers.
If this is within your marketing budget, it's a really good way to not only do some great branding and business, but also gain something on the great majority of your competitors that don't even think of doing something like this.
This is something definitely worth looking into.
