One thing that is a hard rut to get out of no matter what business you're in is to only seek ideas from those around you doing the same type of work. This puts you into a certain frame of mind that can really limit your creative output if you don't find ways to break out.
How can you do it? What can give you new breakthrough concepts that you can apply to your online marketing campaigns? Here is a way to do it.
Ask someone outside the industry what is funny or interesting to them. Ask servers, carpenters, mothers, sisters, grandparents, sons, letter carriers, teachers, whoever you can come in contact with outside your usual sources.
One time when I did this type of thing it was in reference to a business that I couldn't think of a name for. So I came up with a number of possibilities and asked people around me what they thought of them. I explained what I was doing and why I was looking for an answer. Not one person minded giving their input. Based upon their responses I ended up naming the business according to their feedback.

Just like with everything else in business, people are always the key to success here too. It is those that understand the underlying heartbeat of what is happening with people around them that know how to offer them interesting, engaging messages that they will want to share with others.
Go outside your marketing crowd once and awhile and feel the pulse of the streets and see what's happening out there. You'll get a fresh perspective and new insight and motivation that will give you new ideas on what to serve up to your customers.
