Having done business online for years, experience shows that year after year, this is the slowest time of the year; all the way until September comes around.
The exception is of course if your business caters to various season products or services that move quickly during this time of the year.
Here are several things I've tried during the years to keep sales up during the slower months.
1. Try having a sale.
You probably have noticed how many stores will send you sales flyers during the various minor Holidays during the summer. The reason is the same as yours: they need customers to come in their stores also. So they have that sale that everybody loves to get a bargain at.
The nice thing about being online is that you can have a sale at anytime with hardly any effort or cost, other than the reduced price. Just take a few of your good products and mark them down by maybe 25%, or around there. Another thing that works great is to have a special sale to your subscribers. This is always popular and brings in some extra profits that keeps you going until things pick up again.
2. Work some joint ventures.
This means that you promote someone else's product or service and they promote yours. These deals are a great way to pick up some quick sales in a short period of time, and works good in the slow months because these particular customers aren't as familiar with your offerings and are quick to give them a try.
