
Mercedes-Benz has added to its Web presence by putting on their international site "brand world," a broadband based multmedia presentation to complement its regular product pages.
The purpose for the changes was to make it easier to use for those wanting only to find information, while giving broadband users the option to dig deeper into multimedia presentations.
Lothar Korn, head of global advertising for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, said, "The new presentation, which has a strong audiovisual emphasis, enables us to present specific brand topics in greater multimedia detail, it also allows people to experience more intensely the fascination of Mercedes-Benz."
The additions to the site include a virtual tour of the new Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. There are also presentations of current developments in automotive technology and a look at the newest models.
This is a good lesson to learn during this time of transition from static Web pages to the coming multimedia world. We must have both on our pages to offer options based upon our customers needs.
