ComScore Europe announced an analysis of the usage of job-related Web sites in Europe.
The study revealed that Web sites that were made for the purpose of being a resource for job seekers and available training, garnered almost 51 million visitors, or around 30% of the online users in Europe during the month of May 2006. That was up by 22% from last year.
Monster was the leading European job resource with a total of 9.2 million visitors in May 2006. They currently are growing their visitors by 28% over a year ago.
Bob Ivins, managing director of comScore Europe said, “The strong category growth among European Internet users highlights consumers’ increased reliance on the Web for conducting job searches moreover, the fact that nearly one out of every three Internet users in the region visited the Careers category in May, quantifies the importance of this category to Europe’s online population”.
When I see these figures it makes me think that there could be not only opportunities to find good employees here, but also a great marketing tool for the company. If you are in need of an employee or steadily looking for people that will fit your company, think of ways not to only attract them, but to effectively market the company alongside of that goal. Some do this with great success!
