According to an article in DMeurope.com, more than half of European internet users have purchased items online in the last year, citing a study by European research agency InSites.
In the survey it was found that 70 percent of Swedish and Danish respondents had purchased goods or services online, more than any other country measured.
Right behind them came the Netherlands and France with 67 percent and 64 percent, who were also among the top online shoppers.
Other countries in southern Europe such as Spain and Italy had 44 percent each, and Belgium had 47 percent. These had the lowest European totals. The average European online shopper made 7-8 e-purchases a year.
The French, English and German online shoppers purchased about one product or service a month. Belgium and the Netherlands came in last in this statistic with only five online purchases a year.
