The Alpha Marketer![]()
No matter what business or endeavor you're involved with in life, it is tempting to fall into the pattern of listening to what others have to say, and then doing it in an endless cycle.
How many of us have went to seminars, webinars, mentoring, and the endless array of what is being offered out there? There's nothing wrong with doing that up to a certain point. The problem is that we can eventually become information junkies that never devise a plan to execute.
This is a great strategy by the way: get your competitors to endlessly look for the next big thing by promoting all the stuff that comes your way, while you have a strategy in place and ruthlessly stick with it until it is accomplished.
The thing that all of us have to watch out for is the deception that movement means progress. Running around to all the seminars and big name people is fun, inspiring, motivating and we can learn a lot. The time comes though when we have to put something into action. Action isn't going to another seminar; it's developing a plan and working it.
Plan, work it, adjust as you measure and track, rework the plan, work it etc. That is what will bring online marketing success. Yes, get all the basics down. Just don't wait till you have 'perfect' knowledge, that's never going to come. Understand what you're going to do and execute it. That will be more than possibly 90 percent of your competitors will do.
Just don't deceive yourself into thinking that running around is taking action; taking action is taking action.
Have you found yourself in this rut? What did you do about it?
