Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit leadman has taken his fight with the band's fomer quitarist, Wes Borland to MySpace, with Durst using the medium to write a song attacking Borland.
Here are some of the lyrics:
“Stop making plans to manipulate fans and finally stick to something you believe / ’Cause you had us all fooled and, I’ll admit, even me / Manipulating like a crook who’s arrestable / It’s unacceptable, f---ing unacceptable.” You can hear it here.
Borland left Limp Bizkit to hook up with a new group, Black Light Burns.
He responded to Durst by saying: “After years and years of dealing with each other, it seems that Fred and I still have not figured out how to keep it positive. I’m to blame, he’s to blame. It sucks. We never talk. So, it’s hard to ever know what’s really going on.” He added, “I still have zero plans to work with [Limp Bizkit] in the future, but anything is possible.”
With Limp Bizkit suffering from terrible sales of its last EP “The Unquestionable Truth Pt. 1” it's hard to know if this is a real battle or one contrived on both sides to promote new interest in each one. Whether it is or not, it is interesting from the point-of-view of MySpace, of the further uses that will be thought up of from so many diverse users.
When asked about who would replace Borland, Durst took one last dig by saying “I can sleep at night knowing that I have and will never sell out and make music or do my vocals for any reason other than my soul needing to express itself through my art.”
What a stupid comment. The fans of Limp Bizkit voted with their dollars that they didn't like what they produced last time. If Durst soul needs to express itself through his art so bad, he could play music in his bedroom, otherwise like the rest of us that serve customers, we produce what they want, not some goofy idealism making an excuse for not producing a good product.
Still, it is interesting that MySpace offers this type of interaction and promotion to take place.
