Concerning announcements by eBay about the integration of eBay, Skype and Paypal AuctionBytes.com reported:
"Across all of our businesses, we see greater opportunities for future growth than ever before," said Meg Whitman, President and CEO, eBay Inc. "Each of our brands is the global leader in its space and well positioned to pursue new opportunities and accelerate growth. Together, they're working to turbo charge one another. Our multi-brand strategy is opening up entirely new vistas of opportunity for the company."
eBay (EBAY) executives added that Skype will help to facilitate trade on eBay, with the higher-price categories and high involvement areas being especially targeted, such as Motors, Business & Industrial and Real Estate. Early trials reveal that SkypeMe buttons in listings on the international eBay sites are bringing encouraging responses.
Whitman also said that eBay has plans to get into the online advertising arena with a pay-per-lead service, saying that eBay would create new ecommerce markets.
Whitman projected that "Across all of our businesses, we see greater opportunities for future growth than ever before. Each of our brands is the global leader in its space and well positioned to pursue new opportunities and accelerate growth. Together, they're working to turbo charge one another. Our multi-brand strategy is opening up entirely new vistas of opportunity for the company."
This sounds like some good synergy for their partners and some opportunities to not only make some more money for them and for eBay too. Do you eBay users like this announcement and the services that will be offered?
