There are a lot of SEO consultants running around telling online marketers that changing your meta-tags can be a great boost to search engine optimization. While this is starting to change as marketers have found out through experience that it's just not true.
The reality is that there are a number of things that need to be taken into consideration to optimize for search results. It includes title tags, quality of the code being written and the structure of the site itself added together that offers the best results.
Probably the one thing in all of this that provides the most value is the quality of code that is imbedded in the page. This is what brings the greatest results. This is because HTML that is written well is crawled by the search engines much easier.
HTML that is cleaned up brings your content much closer to the top of the coded page, which does in truth give your site a boost. Another benefit of good code is that it lessens the chance that something in it will immediately stop the search engine in its tracks, or even get you banned for suspicion of being a scam marketer.
Remember one thing about any business, it is never about one thing being done right, it's always about doing a lot of little things right day after day. Those of you who buy into this will always outperform those that don't.
It takes much more than changing meta-tags to get your organic search results in high gear.

Good points in your article. I've never used Meta Tags in several years and have ranked well without them. In fact, minimalist headers seems to do well.
