This post I'm going to talk about a wildly popular site that you probably haven't heard about. It uses the strategy I've been talking about blogs and websites with and has had an extraordinary success.
The name of the site is called "Lew Rockwell.com." It is a site that promotes libertarian thinking. The point I want to make about this site is that it is extremely popular and viewed. Do you want to know its monthly visitor count? It's over 28 million. A site with 28 million visitors that isn't created to make money.
What is it's purpose? We hear a lot about Web 2.0 and communities as if it's something new. Those of us that have been online for years laugh at the nonsense. But that, essentially is what the site exists for. Numerous authors write and they interact in the forum among a number of things.
The major point is this: It exists in truth, for another site. It exists to point people to mises.org, which is the real site that is made to make money. This is a simple and powerful concept.
This is what Darren is doing. This is a place where he teaches and develops good will, helps people along and doesn't make much money. But those that visit there, will eventually find some of his other sites, which will be the real moneymakers.
While the Mises.org site has articles to read, it has many more products that can be purchased that continue with the theme of libertarianism. They didn't create a second site that was disconnected from the first, but rather continued on with the theme.
Next post I'll show you how webmasters have been making money online with websites and blogs.
