4 Crucial Steps to a Winning Internet Presence

intpre.jpgWhether you're a novice or a long-term practicer of the online arts, you need to keep in mind several simple but powerful keys to your success.

1. Make sure you update regularly. This is one of the keys for your success as it does a couple of things. First of all it will help draw repeat visitors to your site through the updating by giving them a reason to come back. Another reason is that search engines will search out your site continuously and if there are no changes to your pages, it can affect your ranking to the down side.

2. Stay with Simplicity. Not only do new online marketers make this mistake, but I still see veteran ones losing a whole lot of traffic through this mistake. All those animations, tickers, flash presentations and widgets, not only slow down the page loading, but makes it complicated for users to figure out what they are to do. It has been researched over and over and found to this day that slow loading pages plus cluttered pages do only one thing: send your viewers somewhere else.

3. Respond to your visitors. The greatest mistake you can make is to not respond to those who show an interest in what you're doing. Could you imagine someone in a regular store having someone talk to them and no matter what they do, you won't talk back? That is the same thing with online contact. This is the reason you have a website, to sell. If someone is contacting you, that is usually the first step in the process. Make sure that there is someone available to do this consistently.

4. Set up a blog. This should begin to be a prerequisite for all online marketers. Having a blog offers all sorts of advantages. For one it is a painless way to deal with the issue earlier mentioned about updating your site regularly. Not only will it draw more visitors, but it could do more for your keywords for search engines than anything else.

If you will commit to these areas, you will greatly increase the affectiveness of your online presence. Learn to be disciplined in these areas, and don't try to overly impress people with the sites flashy appearance, to the detriment of losing viewers. Do this and you should do great!
