I hope you have made a decision to include a blog as part of your online business strategy. Those of you that have, here a several tips that can help you to build a blog that will be attractive to search engines and as a result get those pages ranked higher.
1. Simple and easy design.
One thing that is similar to a regular web site in reference to a blog is its design. Just like you want a simple, clean and attractive web site, so it is with a blog. You don't create the blog for you but for your visitors, just like you should a regular web site. The same advice of not getting into much Java and Flash applies here also. This simply distracts those visiting and also causes confusion which makes them leave. Not only that, but it of course slows your pages way down, and it has been proven over and over again that slow loading pages cause vistors to quickly leave. So make the blog easy to navigate and fast loading.
2. Cohesive blog
One of the issues of great importance to successful blogging is to keep your blog topics cohesive. Your chances of ranking higher is determined by the amount of content you have on themes that are similar in focus. The search engine is looking for that so that it can provide its searchers with experts in a field. This also a positive for getting people to link to you.
3. Keyword your content
Think of the major keyword that you want ranked and then make sure you include it in the first paragraph of the post and title. When possible take advantage of using bold and italic tags.
Then think of a couple of words that you would want to scatter across your other paragraphs. Also include words that have similar meanings as the others as search engines take those into consideration also. Don't waste your time with the keyword "density" stuff, these aren't effective like they were before. Important links are much more important now.
We'll touch on a couple of other tips in the next post.
