Six Apart the blogging software developer has purchased Splashblog for an undisclosed amount. SplashBlog represents applications for mobile Photo blogging and empowers users to publish photos immediately from their camera phone to a blog.
Geekzone says that "According to Six Apart, the acquisition brings the latest developments in mobile technologies to the users of the company’s Movable Type, TypePad and LiveJournal blogging software and services. Six Apart users can already send posts to their blogs via cell phones, and the addition of SplashBlog’s team and technologies allows the company to leverage the rapidly developing advancements in mobile technologies."
"The SplashBlog photo blogging solution includes client software that runs on a wide variety of camera phones and a photo hosting service that provides a seamless link between the mobile phone and web service, with two-way synchronisation."
The whole idea of SplashBlog for its users is that they can simply take pictures and upload them to the net with a single click.
The sofware functions across every mobile network and is available for Palm OS, Windows Mobile and Symbian.
Six Apart has given the SplashBlog team the go ahead to integrate their wireless protocols across the six Apart's network, so that services will be fast and efficient for the blogging capabilities that work from mobile devices.
