Michael Dell, addressing some of his employees in India, laid forth some simple, easy to understand concepts on how to be successful in your business.
These three things, he says, are what made him flourish in spite of what anybody thought or has said throughout the years.
Here are his secrets to success that he encourages everyone to follow: He says to keep it simple, keep it focused and believe in what you do.
1. Keep it simple. If you have followed the Dell company model and motto throughout the years, you know how simple the concept was that he developed. He developed a distribution system that, for the customer, was made for their convenience and road that to success for years.
2. Keep it focused. This goes in hand with the keep it simple thought above. When it is simple, it is easy to focus on. Something that is strung out all over the place, is hard for employees and customers to get their hands on. Does anyone have a problem knowing what Dell stands for and what they do? They focus exactly on their strength and go at it over and over again.
3. Believe in what you do. There is no way someone will believe in you and your vision for your company if you don't believe in it completely and honestly. Michael Dell believed in what he saw and "knew" he had a winner. As a result he didn't deviate from the plan and purpose he had, and the results speak for themselves.
No too hard is it. Sure you've got to find out the best way to achieve your plan and purpose, but let these three tips help guide you along the way so you don't go off in all sorts of directions as you work toward your business success.
