One of the things about knowing your chief competitors is that you have been, or should be building your business around what it is that you offer that is different and better than theirs. Otherwise why would you be in business if you don’t have that going for you in the first place? What would be your competitive advantage?

That one thing is that which differentiates you from your competitor. To make sure that you’re getting the full benefit of that difference, make sure that you go over how you are offering your current product or service, and dissect it in every way you can think of.

As you do, think of ways that you add something to it or bundle together unique additions to it without changing the core of what it is. Along with that look for ways to do something unique with the product or service itself that can add some value that will meet the diverse requirements of your customers.

Once you think of some innovative ideas, then implement them into the product and then build your entire marketing campaign around that concept and sell it, and sell it. Push it over and over again, letting your customers know what a unique, valuable product that it is you offer them.

Over the life of your company, this can be done over and over again, making what it is you offer fresh from the customers experience and positioning in their minds.
