The very first thing we all must have on our sites is a headline that is connected completely and totally with your USP. What is it that is so important about the product and service you are offering that your very company exists to offer it? There is nothing more important than this. It is the great divider that separates curiosity seekers from solid customers. This headline will convince those with interest to stick around and explore what it is you are offering.
Your headline must be brief, easy to understand and to the point. It should also be appealing enough that it draws upon a person’s natural curiosity and interests. It should make them excited to examine more of what it is that you’re selling. Of course we always have to offer it in a way that makes them see how it will benefit them.
That’s why I harp on your USP so much. How can you appeal to someone if you don’t know what it is that separates you from your competition? What separates you from them is the reason that your business can even exist; it’s why it can exist. So it is here that your headline must embrace that reality and hammer it home to your visitors on why it is you that offers this fantastic product or service that can uniquely meet their needs.
Now once you have that down, then it is a simple matter of the practical formatting. Make use of larger font sizes, bold, italics, color – and whatever else that will fit in with the specific design style of site that you own. Do this and you will see things start to pick up right away.
