Until not too long ago search engines and directories were focused on providing national, international or global results in the searches. It wasn’t too long ago that they lacked the technology to geo-target. Of course the problem was that it was somewhat more difficult to market for local businesses.a

Now the growing news is that search engines like Google and Yahoo have made huge advances in targeting geographical searches.a

What’s great about it is now you can get your company listed for free both on Yahoo and Google local search directories with out even needing a website if you don’t have one.a

This is something that no one should ignore as they are the two biggest search engines that get the greatest amount of search results.

And like I said the results are now geo-targeted to your potential local customers. People are actively searching for your specific products and services locally. While you may have some local competitors, keep in consideration that only around 50% of local businesses have an online presence.

Now is the time to get your business listed and take advantage of the growing numbers of people using local search engines to find businesses, products and services.
