I remember the late Corey Rudl would always try to convince those looking to him for advice to not include all the things on a site that you think would attract customers. a
Let's go over this subject of web design with a magnifying glass. I hope you believe one thing about online marketing - if there is nothing else you believe or get from this blog: cool design does not sell anything. Complex, slow-loading flash and animations and all the other add-on junk does nothing to help you sell. a
There is a site that is one of those, in its genre, that is my favorite to go to. The problem is that they have some stupid flash presentation that starts every time I enter the site. While I would visit there a lot more often, I don't. More than once I simply leave in the middle of the presentation without entering in. And this is with a skip intro button that seems to work only after half the intro is over. They miss out on a lot just from me.a
One of the things that we all must keep on going over is the design of our websites. There is no great secret of what it is that you are after.
The easier it is for your customers to use and the simpler it is to navigate, the more sales you will generate. Make it your mission whenever possible to eliminate any unnecessary mess, puzzling links and most of what is there to visually impress.
There is one thing that has been proven to sale far beyond anything else, and it’s your sales copy. Let that be the one thing that stands out; the rest will actually take away from it and cost you a lot of money and good-will with your potential customers.
What else can be said? Believe it! Your online success depends upon it.
