Next Online Wave – Think Locally - Part Two

buse.jpg

Some of you out there may be thinking that because your business is web based completely, that thinking locally wouldn’t apply to your specific niche. You couldn’t be more wrong.

a

To begin with, what if your business is related to web marketing, what business within your neighborhood or city couldn’t possibly be your client. This is a fantastic way to increase your online traffic and business. Not only that, but locally you have an advantage over all others competing in your market: the safety they feel in having someone local doing their work.

a

How about if your business is in web design? Are there any local businesses that you can think of that could use your services? You could offer various offers and incentives that are locally based that could enhance your offerings.

a

You could segmentize your email list for your local clients and send out special announcements, news and sales offerings tailored just for them.

a

The things that you could do with this are endless, just use your imagination and look at the overall picture.

a

Don’t underestimate the power of what you could do locally. The very fact that you have an online presence makes you an expert in the eyes of those looking at what you have to offer. Add some local flavor and creativity and see your sales soar.

Hi, thanks for the information posts. I was wondering do you have any specific examples one could target there marketing efforts locally.

I hope you read the next post as it gives you a couple examples of how you can go about it.

Ye PPC is surly a good way to achieve it. Do you think region specific websites like citysearch.com would provide better localized results than say google geotargeting. Thanks for your help.

Although Yahoo gets half the search traffic of Google, it actually gets
considerably more local searches than Google. So a listing in Yahoo Local may be the most important listing you can have.

Although a listing in both would be the best.
