
First of all you must embrace the fact that this is the best way to build your online business traffic and sales, bar none.
You should get a system in place or discipline, whatever you want to call it, of contacting at least several owners of online businesses that operate in a similar niche as you. Research for a little while on their site and see if you like their offerings. If you do then contact them and tell them that you want to help them promote it.
Get away from the thought of you here. They will be interested in what you can do for them. You will find far more success this way then the weary old way of trying to find super-affiliates. Usually it goes something like …”I have a new service or product that will make you a lot of money, and I’ll give you a hefty percentage if you promote it.”
Those who could really complement what you sell will be turned off by these types of sales pitches. You must realize that these types of offers are endlessly being sent to online marketers’ mailboxes. Most won’t even take the time to look at them.
That’s why you must operate from ‘what you can do for them’ mentality. Send them an email saying that you think you can sell a lot of whatever it is that they are offering, and they will take notice of that! There is no other purpose for an affiliate or JV offer than that. It’s your job to get the potential partner to take notice.
At the same time you will “introduce” the product or service you feel will fit well with their niche.
