The internet is one of the greatest tools you can have at your disposal to grow your business if you keep just a couple of things in mind. I’m going to try to say this as simple as I can, and if you follow it, you will reap great rewards in quality customer growth.
Ask any market that knows what they are doing and they will answer the question of what the quickest way to grow and build your business is this: Put together a referral program and follow it religiously.
What is the built-in benefit of a referral? They are acting upon someone’s recommendation that they trust. They don’t necessarily trust you, but they trust the one telling them to trust you. This gives you such a great benefit that I couldn’t emphasize it enough. Why? Because they come to you ready to buy.
The thing for you to comprehend is that you can’t just sit back and wait for them to come to you; hoping that one of your satisfied customers will automatically send them your way. You’ve got to ask for them.
When I sold some high-end products years ago, there were times when I finished with the sale that I would get the prospects to give me 30 – 40 names at a time. You may find this hard to believe, but I was more ecstatic about those names then I was about the sales. I knew the percentages and those names were sweet. And they can be to you too.
The internet increases exponentially the ability to get massive, quick referrals. The key is that you want this to be a steady, consistant stream, not just a one-time quick influx. Streams are easier to handle than floods.
That’s why an ezine and other methods are so vital to keep your name in past customers minds; usually a blend of several different ways of asking, as in anything else, work the best.
But like in any other sales area (and this is sales at its highest level) you’ve got to ask. Your whole campaign must be built around various ways to ask that one question: Will you give me some referrals?
Do this and the stream of steady customers will be a continuous source of profit and income for you and your company.
