Greetings from the AlphaMarketer

Gary.jpg

Hello, my name is Gary Bourgeault, and I am your digital reporter for this blog.

We are far past the point of saying that the internet is here to stay. Now the question must be asked, “How can I use it to add value to my customers?” Notice I did not say you should ask how it can grow your business. If you answer the first question right, the second will happen like you’re on automatic pilot.

a

You see, the internet has the possibility of being the most customer-enhancing vehicle for your business or you can make it a nightmare for your customers.

a

I should know, I ran an internet business for years. It is surprising after all this time that a lot of companies and individuals, hoping to cash in on its potential, still make horrendous mistakes or simply don’t know where to begin or continue.

In the Alphamarketer we’ll look at all the foibles to avoid and strategies that can be used to successfully market your business on the web.

a

We’ll also search out some of the online success stories and dig out the gold that has made these people and businesses so sensational with their strategy.

a

As I have found out, an online business can be very profitable, but it needs to be run differently than other types of businesses. Or it can be used to blend your offline strategy with an online one. The possibilities are endless and changing almost daily.

a

So grab your keyboard and we’ll go for a wild ride together!

P.S. Feel free to print out above picture and use for dart

practice, just don't say where you got it from!

P.S.S. Actually more geeky than photo shows, just trying

to impress powers-that-be. Ah, any feedback guys?

Gary,

Welcome to the team!

Hi, Gary! I like your question right up there: "“How can I use it (the Internet) to add value to my customers?” As an advocate of consumer rights and customer service, I'm happy that you put the customers' satisfaction before company's bottomline.

BTW, thanks for visiting my blog!

Hi Gary. Just a point of correction regarding the Chevy Aveo Livin' Large Challenge: the students aren't driving the cars. In fact, they're not permitted to drive them. They're living in the cars for five days. There will be web cams capturing their every move for 16 hours a day.

Thanks for the update Jim

Gary,

I enjoyed your brief article on the psychology of free, but I am actually on the otherside of the coin. I have a health drink that I distribute and I do events where I offer everyone a free bottle if they visit our website and fill out the contact info. Many of them like the product and take the brochures/business cards. However, we are lucky if even 1% visit the site and get a bottle. Any insights?

Thanks,
Eric
